​Five years ago, on January 12, 2020, Taal Volcano roared back to life with a violent eruption, casting a cloud of ash and fear across Batangas and beyond. A volcanic island in Taal Lake, Taal Volcano is known as one of the Philippines’ most active volcanoes, and its 2020 eruption was a stark reminder of its power. As one of the first major events in a chaotic year, the eruption displaced thousands of families, disrupted livelihoods, and forced Batangueños into the unfamiliar experience of wearing masks and adhering to lockdowns—months before the world would face similar restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

​Tropical Storm Kristine (known internationally as Trami) recently brought significant rainfall and flooding to areas like Batangas, which was especially unusual given that Batangas typically sees less typhoon impact compared to other parts of the Philippines. Kristine developed into a severe tropical storm over the Philippine Sea and moved west-northwest toward Luzon, triggering Signal No. 2 warnings across parts of Luzon, including CALABARZON, which encompasses Batangas. This storm system brought sustained winds of up to 75 km/h and gusts reaching 90 km/h, generating intense rainfall and localized flooding in various regions, including Batangas. What’s even more shocking is that the province is located far from the storm's eye!

For months now, the residents of Rosario, Batangas have been left scratching their heads, wondering about the fate of their local McDonald's. What was once a bustling fast-food joint serving up favorites like Big Macs and McNuggets has turned into a mystery that no one seems able to solve. According to a post by the Business Permits and Licensing Section of the Rosario LGU, the branch was temporarily closed for renovation, sparking hope that something exciting was coming. But many months have passed, and to the dismay of loyal McDo lovers, nothing has changed.

5. Alamin ang iyong precinct at sequence numbers at assigned room o clustered precinct sa Voter's Assistance Desk (VAD). Mas mainam din kung pupunta muna sa Voter Verifier at dun i-check bago pumunta sa botohan.
6. Maaaring magdala ng kodigo para mapadali ang pagboto.
7. Suriing mabuting ang iyong balota. Tingnan kung may punit, dumi, guhit, o naitiman na yung bilog.
8. Itiman nang maayos ang bilog sa tapat ng napiling kandidato. Maaaring mag-undervote pero hindi pwedeng mag-overvote. Wag kalimutang tingnan ang likod ng balota kung nasaan ang listahan ng mga pagpipiliang party-list.
9. Bawal ang pagkuha ng selfie at larawan ng balota. Maari lang dalhin ang iyong cellphone kung dito nakalista ang iboboto.
10. Siguraduhing naipasok mo ang iyong balota at nabilang ng counting machine.
