Alternate Routes to Bypass the Bayan Crossing

The crossing in downtown Rosario has been notorious for its congestion, as it serves as a hub connecting multiple key routes: Padre Garcia, Lipa City, and Manila to the north; Taysan, Lobo, and Batangas City to the south; San Juan, Batangas, Quezon Province, and Bicol to the east; and Ibaan, Batangas City, and Manila to the west. These alternate routes provide options to bypass the traffic at the crossing, offering smoother travel through Rosario and more direct access to surrounding areas.

These routes are mostly suitable for light vehicles only. For precise navigation, you may find it helpful to use Google Maps or Waze if you're unfamiliar with the area.

​1. From West/Kanluran (Manila-Star Toll, Batangas City, Ibaan)

• Going North: Turn left onto Namunga-Sta. Cruz Road. This route will take you through Barangay Sta. Cruz and into Padre Garcia. The road leading to Barangay San Roque is under construction as of the moment, along with the new public market and other developments.
• Going South: Across SM Hypermarket, turn right toward Citimart Supermarket. This road connects to Carandang St., leading to Barangay Namuco.

2. From North/Ilaya (Manila-National Highway, Lipa City, Padre Garcia)

• Going West: Turn right onto San Roque-Sta. Cruz Namunga Road. Currently under construction, it may be closed, open for motorcycles and/or light vehicles only. It connects to the National Road in Barangay Namunga.
• Going East: Turn left onto J. Belen St. in Barangay San Roque, and continue straight until you reach Gualberto Avenue.

3. From East/Silangan (Bicol, Quezon, San Juan, Batangas)

• Going South: Turn left into Villa Feliza Subdivision, then make your way to H. Mindanao St., in the vicinity of Rosario Public Market. This route provides access to Taysan, Lobo, and Batangas City, or allows you to reach the public market without passing through Gualberto Avenue. Alternatively, continuing toward Poblacion, you may also turn left onto E. Buquir St., then right to J. Magtibay St. toward Carandang St., where you can make another left going to Barangay Namuco.
• Going North: Turn right onto E. Zuño St., which leads up to Grotto/Tombol Hill. Then, turn left onto J. Belen St., leading to Barangay San Roque. Alternatively, you can take Y. Zuño St. straight to PVGMA and then turn left onto J. Belen St. If heavy traffic is only in front of Laurel Park, you may also turn right onto G. Recto St.

4. From South/Ibaba (Batangas City, Lobo, Taysan)

• Going West: Turn left onto the road near St. Vincent Memorial Park. This route will bring you to Citimart Supermarket in Barangay Namunga.
• Going East: Turn right onto either L. Greñas St. or J. Magtibay St. to bypass the crossing. Continue straight until you reach the end, where you can turn left to connect with Gualberto Avenue.

These alternate routes provide various options to bypass traffic congestion at Bayan Crossing. Drive carefully, and be mindful of ongoing construction along some of these roads.
